I was driving on Route 1 toward Portage Alaska near the Turnagain Arm of Cook Inlet when this beautiful sunset appeared out of nowhere! Everyone on the highway was stopping to gaze in awe of this magnificent sight. It drew more attention than a grizzly along the road in Denali National Park! I jumped out of the car and set my camera on a tripod as quickly as possible. I pulled off as many shots as I could in the few moments this unbelievable red glow remained on the distant mountain. It looked like it was on fire...a huge burning ember surrounded by a magnificent sky. No filters and no tricks, this is just how it appeared!
